"I'm quite impressed with your program with a Masters in C&I and a PhD in Teaching and Leadership I've seen a lot of curriculum, even written some myself, and this is well thought out and well organized.  The students over and over said how much fun it was.  And, after all, isn't that what learning should be!!  Thanks for the opportunity to see this curriculum in action."

A student says...
"I thought Main Street, U.S.A. was awesome because we learned all about the life in Colonial Times."

"I will always remember what themes we did cause it was very fun like Hawaii and Egypt, Civil war and the Revolutionary War." You make things so fun and do it with fun stuff like games and or digging or sometimes even eating."

"When I spent the day on Main Street, U.S.A. as part of the American Sampler Program, I experienced the culture of ten different states. I went through ten stations and learned about the sates in a variety of hands-on projects. At some stations we made food that was unique to that state's culture and were very interesting. At other stations, we did exciting art & craft projects that helped me learn about the different types of people that make up America.

Spending the day learning about the variety of different cultures helped me to understand about the many countries in the world that come to ours, the U.S.A., to make us one great unique country. I'm grateful to be an American and to be able to experience the best of all countries of the world, right here in our own neighborhood! It really is a small world after all!"

A principal states...
"Enthusiasm for the experience was apparent in students' post evaluations as well as in their excitement.  Children were disappointed that the school day had come to an end.  Given that social studies has been ranked by elementary children to be the least liked subject, I would venture to say that if social studies instruction was approached in the same way as Main Street, U.S.A. was executed, it would rank at the top of the list."

Teacher Comments...
"The activities are well organized and easy to follow.  Students look forward to rotating around to the various activities.  Excitement and positive feedback was heard from the students throughout the day."
